CCF Super League History of
GOOD KNIGHTS***

SEASON 2010-2011     -     GOOD KNIGHTS
Players Brian Allan, Dave Cork, Robert Maguire, Mike Matthews, Jasper Moore, Robert Smart (Capt).
Position Premiership - 7th out of 8
Comments Despite on paper having one of the strongest squads in the league, the 3 times champions went tumbling out of the Premiership despite victory in the final round.  That win was their only win of a season which saw them achieve 3 draws.  Sadly with two players leaving, it turned out to be the end for Good Knights, as the remaining players did ot wish to continue without them.
SEASON 2009-2010     -     GOOD KNIGHTS
Players Brian Allan, Dave Cork, Robert Maguire, Mike Matthews, Jasper Moore, Robert Smart (Capt).
Position Premiership - 3rd out of 8
Comments Good Knights looked odds on to retain their title after 4 straight wins at the start of the season.  Then suddenly things started slipping.  Defeat to The Gladiators opened the door ajar to the chasing pack before defeat to Pawn Crackers saw The Gladiators leapfrog them.  Victory in the final round against King Pawns was essential but they only drew, leaving The Gladiators clear of them and allowing 5th placed Pawn Crackers to jump above them into 2nd.
SEASON 2008-2009     -     GOOD KNIGHTS
Players Brian Allan, Dave Cork, Robert Maguire, Mike Matthews, Jasper Moore, Robert Smart (Capt).
Position Premiership - 1st out of 8
Comments Two draws in the first 2 rounds left Good Knights very slightly off the pace early on, but 4 consecutive wins suddenly thrust them through into the lead going into the last round.  A draw was all they needed and was what they got, help in part to a weakened opposing team, but it would have been enough anyway as their 2 closest rivals drew with each other on the final day.  Good Knights are now the most successful team in the competition's history.
SEASON 2007-2008     -     GOOD KNIGHTS
Players Brian Allan, Dave Cork, Robert Maguire, Mike Matthews, Robert Smart (Capt).
Position Premiership - 4th out of 8
Comments This was a season of never being in the running to win it and never really being in danger.  And that takes some doing in a division of only 8 teams.  They seemed to stay close to the middle of the table throughout the majority of the season, although did finish in the top half..
SEASON 2006-2007     -     GOOD KNIGHTS
Players Brian Allan, Dave Cork, Robert Maguire, Mike Matthews, Robert Smart (Capt).
Position 5 of 12
Comments Three straight defeats at the start of the season put pay to any realistic hopes of retaining the title and making it a hat-trick.  From that point onwards, they main target had to be to avoid relegation to the new planned second tier.  This was eventually managed with a little to spare.
SEASON 2005-2006     -     GOOD KNIGHTS
Players Brian Allan, Dave Cork, Gavin Lock, Robert Maguire, Mike Matthews, Robert Smart (Capt).
Position 1 of 12
Comments Good Knights became the first team to retain the trophy, winning 7 and drawing 2 of 9 games.
SEASON 2004-2005     -     GOOD KNIGHTS
Players Brian Allan, Dave Cork, Gavin Lock, Mike Matthews, Garfield Moore, Robert Smart (Capt).
Position 1 of 14
Comments After winning only once in the first 3 rounds, Good Knights won the final six games to storm to their first ever title.
SEASON 2003-2004     -     GOOD KNIGHTS
Players Brian Allan, Simon Breen, Dave Cork (Capt), Mike Matthews, Garfield Moore, Robert Smart, Troy Udall.
Position 13 out of 20
Comments A reasonable start came to nothing when Good Knights failed to win any of the last 5 rounds.
SEASON 2002-2003     -     GOOD KNIGHTS
Players Brian Allan, Dave Cork, Mike Matthews, Garfield Moore, Robert Smart (Capt).
Position 6 out of 12
Comments 4 wins and 2 draws had Good Knights well and truly in the hunt with just 3 rounds to go, but 2 defeats and a draw in the final round saw them even slip out of the prize fund zone.
SEASON 2001-2002     -     GOOD KNIGHTS
Players Michael Collins, Gary Francis, Stuart Hamilton (Capt), Mike Matthews, Robert Smart, Jacques Tivillier, .
Position 6 out of 6
Comments This was the first ever season of competition and there had been an attempt to get the teams as equal as possible.  Stuart Hamilton had named and agreed to captain the team but things never really got going in the first season, which saw them end propping up the rest.
