SEASON
2014-2015
- PAWN CURRY ( 2 teams) |
Players |
Anantha Anilkumar, James Golding, Eugenia Imykshenova, Pramoth Ragavan, Ian
Stoneman, Barry Miles, Keith Selby, Adam Crafer (Capt), Dylan Perera,
Michael Freeman. |
Position |
1st
Team: Championship
- 2nd out of 6 Cup: Lost in Plate
Final 2nd Team: League 1: 5th
out of 6 Cup: Lost in Plate Q-F. |
Comments |
If
it wasn't for the 1st round defeat to the eventual champions, it would
have been Pawn Curry taking their place in the top division next season;
however they only missed on goal difference. The 2nd team didn't
fair so well as they finished 1 off the bottom after a season without
victory. In the cup, the 2nd team went out in the Q-F but the 1st
team made it all the way to the final of the Plate, but were beaten by
Knights of Old at the final hurdle. |
SEASON
2013-2014
- PAWN CURRY (1 team) |
Players |
Steve
Brocklesby,
Anantha Anilkumar, James Golding, Barry Miles, Ian Stoneman, Adam Crafer
(Capt). |
Position |
Championship
- 4th out of 6 Cup - Lost in Cup Q-F |
Comments |
This
was a season of consolidation having won League 1 last year and they did
that by only losing 1 league game (to the eventual winners). They
retained their place in the league by 1 position. Nothing much to
write home about in the cup; being drawn against RSJ in the
quarter-finals was a challenge too far (for the 2nd season in a
row). |
SEASON
2012-2013
- PAWN CURRY (1 team) |
Players |
Barry Miles, Jon-Man Chung,
Anantha Anilkumar, Ian Stoneman, Adam Crafer (Capt), Elizabeth Johnson. |
Position |
League
1 - 1st out of 6 Cup - Lost in Plate Final |
Comments |
This
was a superb 1st season for new captain Adam Crafer. They ran from
the front in the league, winning all 5 games to take the title and
promotion to the Championship; they team should already be well suited
to that. They lost their opening cup tie, but then ran all the way
through to the final of the plate event, where they hit the brick wall
of RSJ, but only lost by the odd point in 4. |
SEASON
2011-2012
- PAWN CURRY (1 team) |
Players |
Anantha
Anilkumar, Jon-Man Chung, Adam Crafer, Ben Fry (Capt), Alex Hardwick, Barry Miles, Ian Stoneman |
Position |
Championship
- 5th out of 10 |
Comments |
They
were so close to a Championship place for next season but missed out by
the narrowest of margins. With 2 wins in the first 3 rounds they
started well and only ended up losing to the top 2 teams. However
a couple more draws and a point lost on an appearance issue left them as
the highest ranged League 1 team for next season. |
SEASON
2010-2011
- PAWN CURRY (1 team) |
Players |
Anantha
Anilkumar, Jon-Man Chung, Adam Crafer, Ben Fry (Capt), Alex Hardwick, Barry Miles, Ian Stoneman |
Position |
Championship
- 3rd out of 8 |
Comments |
Having
been relegated last season, the aim was to try and get back up at the
first attempt. The addition of Alex Hardwick to the squad was
always going to be good news, but he was not always available. A
decent start gave way to a poor middle season and despite beating the
eventual champions in round 5, they fell just 1 place short of
promotion. |
SEASON
2009-2010
- PAWN CURRY (1 team) |
Players |
Ben Fry, Caspian
Heeler (Capt), Geoff Marchant, Barry Miles, Joseph Norris, Ian Stoneman |
Position |
Premiership
- 8th out of 8 |
Comments |
Without
a regular strong top board, they were always going to struggle and so it
proved. Caspian Heeler, despite being one of many players to have
to punch above his weight, did so with distinction and one or two
stunning results along the way, but it was always going to be too tough
for them to hold their place in the Premiership, although relegation was
onlt fully confirmed on the final week of the season. |
SEASON
2008-2009
- PAWN CURRY (1 team) |
Players |
Carolyn
Barker (Capt), Ben Fry, Caspian Heeler, Lucian Heeler, Joseph Norris,
Rohan Shiatis |
Position |
Championship
- 2nd out of 8 |
Comments |
They
so narrowly missed out on promotion last year but held on to 2nd on the
final week to claim promotion this time. They had been languishing
in the lower reaches after the 3rd round but 4 straight wins towards the
end took them through and into the Premiership. |
SEASON
2007-2008
- PAWN CURRY (1 team) |
Players |
Remy
Claustres, Sam Fry (Capt), David Grant, Caspian Heeler, James Schenck,
Rohan Shiatis, Vishal Shiatis. |
Position |
Championship
- 3rd out of 8 |
Comments |
A new
team formed by Daniel Gliddon and ably captained by Sam Fry,
they missed out on promotion on goal difference in one of the tightest
super league competitions ever. A good squad if they can stay
together, they should threaten the top of the table again next season. |
SEASON
2006-2007
- PAWN CURRY (1 team) |
Players |
Carolyn
Barker, Chris Chapman (Capt), Remy Claustres, Caspian Heeler, Gasper
Jubani, Bill McDonald, John Sheekey. |
Position |
8th out
of 12 |
Comments |
Pawn
Curry were put together by Daniel Gliddon but run by Chris
Chapman. They did very well to finish 8th mainly thanks to their
captain punching well above his grade. They officially had the
right to hold their place in the top division for the following season
have finished 8th but elected to drop down for next season due to the
loss of one or two senior players in the squad. |
