All start times after the morning rounds
should be considered provisional where a player involved is playing
more than 1 game in a day. If their "previous" game runs on, they are entitled to a gap of up to...... 1 HOUR IN THE NORM EVENT or 30 MINUTES IN ALL OTHER EVENTS .....before being obliged to start their next game. Players/Opponents enter these events on the basis of agreement to this. Juniors will only be allowed to play in these events if their conduct is mature enough to respect the strength of players in the room. |
All events are part of the ECF Grand Prix except the Junior Training days.
All English
entrants for "adult" events must provide their current English Chess Federation Membership
membership Number.
All non-English players must also be ECF Gold - or face a £10 surcharge per
event.
New players to the FIDE system not registering as England must obtain their new FIDE reference code
from their chosen Federation before being allowed to play.
NORM ROUND ROBIN EVENT | Those with a GM / IM title are invited to contact us to apply for a place. We are considering various types of norm events. |
MORNINGS: SECTIONS FOR ALL EVENTS |
This is 1 round per day and open to players rated below 2000. These will all be sub-divided into small sections subject to entries. With no play on Monday, these will be 4 round competitions. |
AFTERNOONS: ELITE EVENTS |
These will be 5 rounds in 5 days. We have deliberately set tight criteria as to who can play in each section to stop lower ranked players from choosing to play in higher sections where they have not yet earned that level of ranking. There are 5 different levels of tournament, all with similar rules, but players have to have had a rating of a set level to play in the top 4 sections, but in addition have to have reached a certain (lower) level in the previous months of the calendar year. |
JUNIOR FIDE LP CONGRESSES | Limited to players graded below 80 ECF, we will run 2 of these FIDE Rated LP congresses. The first one will run Tue-Wed, with the 2nd one Thu-Fri. |
JUNIOR COACHING WEEK | Institute of Chess Coaching Courses with Exams. Players need to be available for all days of the course to take full advantage. |
