CLUB DIARY       CURRENT SUPER LEAGUE        WINTER SEASON CHECKER

SEASON 2018-2019     -     HAT-TRICK
Players Paul Bloom, Lana Boztas, Michael Collins, Aditya Jain, Sandy Smyth
Position 8 out of 8
Comments Again lacking in a big-hitter, they would have finished in the bottom 2 had it not been for the points deduction given to The Others.  A final round win was their only 1 of the season, albeit 1 draw in round 2.
SEASON 2017-2018     -     HAT-TRICK
Players Paul Bloom, Lana Boztas, Michael Collins, Aditya Jain, Sandy Smyth
Position 8 out of 8
Comments It was a disappointing season, with only 1 draw in 5 matches to show for their seasons effort.  Once again they lacked a big hitter on the higher boards and were never likely to threaten the top end of the table.
SEASON 2016-2017     -     HAT-TRICK
Players Lana Boztas, Michael Collins, Oliver Gillman, Aditya Jain, Sandy Smyth
Position 7 out of 8
Comments They were again always going to be less than competitive with the top teams - and failed to win any of their matches in once again finished 2nd to bottom of the table.  They will need to find a big hitter for the top board if they ever want to challenge for the title.
SEASON 2015-2016     -     HAT-TRICK
Players Lana Boztas, , Michael Collins (Capt), Aditya Jain, Frank Kane, Sandy Smyth.
Position 9 out of 10
Comments Reliability was better from the squad; a 5th player certainly aided that.  However without a strong player or 2 on top board they were never going to be much better than mid-table.  That's where they sat mid-season but 2 late season defeats dropped them to 2nd bottom at the end.
SEASON 2014-2015     -     HAT-TRICK
Players Lana Boztas, Sandy Smyth, Vince Brady, Michael Collins (Capt).
Position 8 out of 8
Comments This year was tough from start to finish.  Not containing stronger players and having unavailability issues was always going to be a problem for a team who only had 4 players.
SEASON 2013-2014     -     HAT-TRICK
Players Lana Boztas, Sandy Smyth, Vince Brady, Michael Collins (Capt).
Position 6 out of 8
Comments Despite their customary good start, they never really threatened the title and lost 4 consecutive games after that to finish in 6th place.  Not helped with only having 4 players in the squad, they did default a board in 2 of those defeats.
SEASON 2012-2013     -     HAT-TRICK
Players Lana Boztas, Sandy Smyth, Vince Brady, Michael Collins (Capt).
Position 6 out of 6
Comments As with last season they started well, this time with a victory against the team who eventually jumped ahead of them in the final table, but it was 4 straight defeats after that for a 2nd successive bottom placed finish.  However their team was as small as it could be and reliable; despite having only 4 players they didn't default a board.
SEASON 2011-2012     -     HAT-TRICK
Players Lana Boztas, Vince Brady, Michael Collins (Capt), Joshua Giles, Sandy Smyth.
Position 6 out of 6
Comments A draw to the eventual Runners-Up in the opening round proved a false dawn as 4 consecutive defeats saw them slip away to a bottom position finish, finally ending their long stretch of 4th placed finishes.  However 2 of those defeats were by the narrowest possible margin.
SEASON 2010-2011     -     HAT-TRICK
Players Lana Boztas, Vince Brady, Michael Collins (Capt), Joshua Giles, Sandy Smyth.
Position 4 out of 6
Comments A win and a draw meant they again finished 4th.  They were on zero after 2 rounds before gaining their points in the subsequent rounds, beating and drawing with the 2 teams that finished below them.
SEASON 2009-2010     -     HAT-TRICK
Players Lana Boztas, Vince Brady, Michael Collins (Capt), Sandy Smyth.
Position 4 out of 6
Comments They managed to hold 4th place, partly due to another team having points deducted.  All 4 players played every round and they managed draws against the top 2 from last season in what turned out to be a strange season for results.
SEASON 2008-2009     -     HAT-TRICK
Players Lana Boztas, Vince Brady, Michael Collins (Capt), Joseph Fry, Sandy Smyth.
Position 4 out of 6
Comments Clearly weakened by the loss of Alan Prizant from the squad, the team were always likely to be out-gunned on the top boards by much stronger teams, despite valiant efforts by those involved.  As such, a last place finish wasn't too much of a surprise and was no disgrace.
SEASON 2007-2008     -     HAT-TRICK
Players Lana Boztas, Michael Collins (Capt), Joseph Fry, Alan Prizant, Sandy Smyth.
Position 4 out of 6
Comments The 2 points they had deducted due to 1 player not making 3 games actually did not affect their final league position.  A reasonable start with just half a point dropped in 2 matches gave way to 3 straight defeats to finish the season.
SEASON 2006-2007     -     HAT-TRICK
Players Lana Boztas, Paul Braithwaite, Michael Collins (Capt), Alan Prizant, Sandy Smyth.
Position 4 out of 4
Comments They were never in the running, not helped by a long term illness for one of their players.  Most of their board points were scored on top board.
SEASON 2005-2006     -     HAT-TRICK
Players Lana Boztas, Michael Collins (Capt), Alan Prizant, Sandy Smyth.
Position 3 out of 4
Comments This was a yo-yo season for Hat-Trick.  Defeat in the first round was followed by 2 crunching wins before they slipped back into defeat mode and finished 3rd.
