The Good News Originally purchased from The London Chess Centre this set was made as a prototype for a range of sets to retail around the £2000 mark. The luxury walnut board was purchased separately for £299.This Staunton pattern set has been beautifully hand carved from top quality Ebony and Boxwood. The King measures 4" (115mm) with a base diameter of 1.75" (45mm). The pieces are heavily weighted and finished with black leather bases. The set comes in its own box (40cm x 36cm x 6cm)The board has squares of 55mm and is 55cm square overall with a black bevelled edging. The set is a joy to look at and even more enjoyable to use!
The Bad News Unfortunately the tip of one ear on one of the white knights has been broken off. There is a very small blemish on one of the white bishops. There is a small blemish on the black bevelled edge of the board adjacent to the square a8.
