ENGLISH CHESS CHALLENGE This was set up in 2001 to ensure that all junior players

Eligible: Anyone attending school in the traditional Surrey boundaries (as accepted by CCF) and allocated to this event as opposed to the Surrey East & Sussex competition. No entries can be accepted on the day and only those listed on this web site will be able to play.

Venue Address: Wimbledon Park Primary School, Havana Road, Wimbledon, London. SW19 8EJ
Parking: You can park on site free of charge. Please enter the school gates and turn right into the playground - we like to keep the other side free for the players to "let off steam" between rounds. Please park as tightly as is possible to ensure everyone can get in.
Underground: Wimbledon Park Underground Station (District Line) is a 6-7 minute walk away.
Buses: 156 runs from Wimbledon to Clapham Junction which runs down Durnsford Road which leads to Havana Road. The 44, 77 and 270 go along Garratt Lane past Earlsfield Station.

Arrive: Between 1pm and 1-30pm. Earlier is better as it relieves pressure on the signing-in desks.
Running Late on the day?: If you are going to be late, please ring 020 8645 0302 - if this number is un-manned, there will be a forwarding mobile number quoted on the answer machine to contact. Please ring and advise as early as you can if you think there is going to be a problem as players may lose their place in a team if they turn up late (CCF has to make decisions at 1-35pm) to try and ensure a prompt as possible start time.
Not coming?: Please follow the same instructions as for those running late; just one child who doesn't turn up without any notice can delay the competition whilst we re-structure the teams to ensure an even number.
