Players receive a
commemorative medal for playing, regardless of their score, but only if they
stay to the prize giving.

1: AUTUMN TERM: LONDON JUNIOR CHESS
CHAMPIONSHIPS (LJCC) QUALIFIER This is one of the oldest junior tournaments in the country and one that a lot of junior players aspire to. Some travel to loads of different qualification events to get in and do battle with some of the best junior talent around. Souvenir medals will be presented to all competitors with special medals awarding those who score well. Our competition is 6 rounds (30 minutes each on the clocks) and players play in the following age groups: Under 18 (not LJCC qualifier) Under 12 Under 10 Under 8 Ages are taken at 31st August 2007. SPRING TERM: ENGLISH
CHESS CHALLENGE (ECC) QUALIFIERS In this event, everyone plays in one big 7 round tournament. Please click on the link above to see how round 1 of the English Chess Challenge works. The scoring system we use today will be reverted from the 3-2-1 (win-draw-lose) system into the normal 1-½-0 in respect of the Grand Prix scores. The normal ECC prizes are given out as the day goes on, but the winner's trophy will not be presented until the final in June. |
| EVENT 4:
SUMMER TERM: CCF JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS This is a new event that is only open to current or former CCF trainees and members. This will mean that only those that have been trained under the CCF umbrella at any time plus anyone who has been a member of CCF will be eligible. There will be competitions at: In addition, there will be a competition between the CCF Trainers and a trophy for whoever gets the best score. They will be able to nominate the highest scorer of their trainees in each age group (except the Under 18) to decide who wins. Where there is a dispute about which trainer is responsible, CCF will adjudicate prior to the event. Ages are taken at 31st August 2007. |
