GENERAL TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

TOURNAMENT TYPE:
All events will be 5 Round competitions.  Players may request a ½ point bye in any rounds except the last round.  All games will be graded and results included in the English Chess Federation Grand Prix. Grades will be taken from the latest books that we hold at the venue on the day of each event.

GRADED SECTIONS:
These will be graded sections - not one open event; CCF reserves the right to merge small sections if appropriate.
The sections are:  Open, u170, u145, u120, u90.

ROUND TIMES
DAY 1:   Round 1:  10-15      Round 2:  14-15      Round 3:  18-15        DAY 2:    Round 4:  10-15       Round 5:  14-15

PAIRINGS / DEFAULT TIMES
Pairings will be done the night before and late entrants (if accepted) added into the draw.  Default time will be 30 minutes after the advertised start of each round. All players play in all rounds (except where there is a bye - no player can get more than 1 bye in the competitions). It is NOT a knockout!

TIME CONTROL:
DIGITALS:   1 hour and 15 minutes for all moves plus 30 seconds added Fischer timings from move 1.
MANUALS:  1 hour and 15 minutes for all moves, then 30 minutes added to finish.  (manuals will only be used if we run out of digitals).

LAWS OF CHESS:
FIDE Laws of Chess Apply.  The decision of the CCF controller is final in all matters

MOBILE PHONES:
CCF allows mobile phones onto the premises.  However, we will strictly implement the new FIDE laws.  Players must switch their phones off during play (we will not allow them on silent mode), but players are invited to put their phones on divert to the CCF telephone number (020 8645 0302) whilst the congress is in progress, should they be expecting urgent calls.
OTHER ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT:
To uphold the FIDE laws, players may not interact with anyone using computers whilst their game is still in progress.

RESULTS ON THE WEB SITE:
It is a condition of entry into any CCF tournament that CCF may list results (including names and clubs) on our web site for permanent display.
